Beach Southeast

Southeast Shore Oahu Beaches including
beach description and facilities
Many of Hawaii’s most beautiful, secluded beaches are located along the Southeast Shore. Surf tends to be high in this area during the summer months. Beware of Box Jellyfish that swarm ashore 7-11 days after a full moon. At any beach in Hawaii, obey warning signs, ask lifeguards about ocean conditions, keep your eye on the surf, and if you have any doubt, stay out!

Beautiful, remote spot at the base of Diamond Head crater. Small strip of

sand, swimming is fair due
to coral in the water. Snorkeling good if surf is

calm. Great place to watch windsurfers. From the
parking area, look for

an opening in the wall and take the unpaved path down to the beach.

When surf is low, great beach for swimming. When surf is high,

treacherous due to rip currents and shorebreak. Heaven for experienced

bodysurfers. Dangerous rip tide in front of Keawaakio Cove,
even during

calm surf, do not swim here! Outcropping of lava where waves can pound

you into rocks around the Point. Check with lifeguard for swimming

conditions before entering the water. Heed all posted warnings! On

cloudy days it’s likely it will be sunny here. Trade winds keep it

comfortable, wear plenty of sunblock. On windy days you may get

sandblasted!
