Oahu North Shore Region Beaches Title
North Shore Oahu Beaches including beach description and facilities
Oahu's North Shore is known as the world's surfing capital. Its beaches are famous for their huge winter waves, averaging 25-30 feet, but capable of reaching 50 feet and inflicting serious injury and death upon humans. North Shore surf is not for casual surfers or swimmers. Summer months tend to be calmer for snorkeling and swimming. However, calm seas can be deceiving. You must be careful if you are going to enter the water here. Respect the ocean's power while in Hawaii! If you are not an expert swimmer, you may just want to enjoy watching the awesome surfing that takes place on the North Shore.

Relatively undeveloped beach. Large and dangerous waves during the
winter. Nice beach for swimming and snorkeling when it's calmer in
summer months. Overlooks the famous surf site "Off- the-Wall", also
known as "Kodak Reef", to the North and to the South, the equally
dangerous "Log Cabins" surf site.

The best place in the world to see marine turtles up close. Hawaiian green
turtles crawl ashore almost daily. PLEASE Do not handle or touch the
sea turtles.
While snorkeling or swimming, give the turtles 10
feet of space
.

A marine life conservation area, beachcomber's dream, tide pools,
strange lava formations and blowholes. Two small beaches located at the
ends of the park; Three Tables and Shark's Cove. Both great snorkel and
dive sites, mainly in the summer months during low surf. Dangerous surf
during the winter so snorkeling, swimming and diving not recommended.
